Match length

How you set up the table tennis tournament

Singles and the games

In singles, add each player as a team under their own name. In doubles, the pair is a team with two names on the roster. Scoring is on sets. A best of five that was won goes in as 3:1 or 3:2. The games to 11 stay at the table.

Tables and the rating list

Each table is a field. In the planner, about 30 minutes per match is enough, and finals at best of seven run longer. There is no link to a national rating list. Groups, the plan and the day's results live here. Whoever reports the event to the federation copies the results across afterwards.

Typical tournaments

01

Club championship

Players as teams, groups of four, the winners into the knockout. Finals get a longer slot.

02

Open event

Sign-up with an entry fee, no report to a federation. The same groups.

03

Doubles

The pair is a team. Keep it as its own division, or as its own event in the afternoon.

How to set it up

Four steps and the basics are in place.

  1. 1

Switch scoring to sets. In the group, enter 3:1 for a best of five that was won, not the points to 11.

  2. 2

Add each table as a field. Table 7 is not table 1.

  3. 3

In singles, each player is a team under their own name. In doubles, the pair has two names on the roster.

  4. 4

Set the slot to about 30 minutes. Finals at best of seven run longer, or the last game collides with the prize-giving.

Table tennis tournament questions

Can I add individual players instead of squads?

Yes. Each player is a team, and the name is their name. In doubles, the pair is a team with both names on the roster.

How do I enter a best of five?

As games won: 3:0, 3:1 or 3:2. The points to 11 stay at the table. A best of seven works the same way, for example 4:2.

How do I add the tables?

Each table is a field. In the planner, about 30 minutes per match. Stretch the slot only for a longer final.

Is there a link to a national rating list?

No. EasyTourney runs the tournament. Whoever registered the event with the federation copies the rating points across afterwards.

Who enters the results?

The desk, through the helper link, or the players through their team link. You can undo a wrong 3:1, and the table recalculates.

Set up your first tournament. Up to eight teams it costs nothing.

No subscription, no credit card. When the tournament grows, you book a plan for that one event.
