How you set up the football tournament

Scoring and rounds

In setup, leave 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. Tie-breakers: points, goal difference, goals scored. The groups-and-knockout template creates the rounds. After a penalty shoot-out you enter the final score, for example 5:4, so the next round has a winner.

Pitches and the public page

Each small pitch is its own field, even when both sit on the same grass. Match length and the gap in the planner build the schedule. For the youngest, switch the table off when you publish and leave the schedule up. Parents open the page in the browser. They do not install an app.

Typical tournaments

01

Youth tournament

One division per age group, so the groups stay apart. Short matches in the planner, and for the youngest the table switched off on the public page.

02

Winter indoor cup

One field and a short gap. The hall has a closing time, so the final has to sit before it.

03

Company and penalty cups

Short matches, or only the shoot-out as the score. The tournament page shows kick-off and result. Contacts stay private.

How to set it up

Four steps and the basics are in place.

  1. 1

Leave a win at 3, a draw at 1 and a loss at 0. Tie-breakers, in order: points, goal difference, goals scored.

  2. 2

Use the template with groups followed by a knockout and set the groups to four teams.

  3. 3

Add each small pitch as its own field, even when both sit on the same grass. Enter match length and gap, then plan.

  4. 4

For the youngest, switch the table off on the public page and leave the schedule up.

Football tournament questions

How do I set 3 points for a win?

In setup: 3 for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss. Tie-breakers, in order: points, goal difference, goals scored. The table on the tournament page uses the same numbers.

How do I add two small pitches?

Each as its own field, for example Pitch North and Pitch South. In the planner you select both, plus match length and gap. The matches then run side by side.

What do I enter after a penalty shoot-out?

The final score, such as 5:4. The knockout then has a winner. A 1:1 in the group stays a draw, and both teams get a point.

Can I hide the table for the youngest?

Yes. When you publish, switch the table off. The schedule and the scores stay visible. The placing does not.

Can parents see the schedule without an app?

Yes. The tournament page runs in the browser. Put the link or the QR code at the entrance. A saved score shows up there.

Set up your first tournament. Up to eight teams it costs nothing.

No subscription, no credit card. When the tournament grows, you book a plan for that one event.
