Field hockey in summer, indoor hockey in winter.

Two halves of one turf are two fields. In setup you leave 3, 1 and 0. A shoot-out is the final score you enter, and the overnight stay is an extra on the sign-up form.

How you set up the hockey tournament

Half pitches and the hall

Add Pitch 1 North and Pitch 1 South as two fields, or the plan stacks matches that should run at the same time. Indoor hockey is its own event, or at least its own fields and a different duration. Scoring stays 3, 1 and 0, with points, goal difference and goals.

Age groups, the shoot-out, the overnight stay

One division per age group. In the knockout you enter a shoot-out as the final score, for example 3:2. Two match days cover Saturday and Sunday. The overnight stay is a priced extra on the sign-up form, not a phase in the schedule.

Typical tournaments

01

Youth on the turf

A division per age group, half pitches as their own fields, scoring 3, 1, 0. The final round on the second match day.

02

Indoor hockey

One field, a shorter duration. Enter the shoot-out as the final score, not as each run.

03

Holiday weekend

Two match days, the overnight stay as an extra on the sign-up form. The same teams, a different day in the plan.

How to set it up

Four steps and the basics are in place.

  1. 1

Add each half pitch as its own field, such as Pitch 1 North and Pitch 1 South. The hall is another field, not a second half.

  2. 2

Scoring 3, 1, 0. Tie-breakers: points, goal difference, goals scored.

  3. 3

One division per age group. Groups only inside that division.

  4. 4

Enter a shoot-out as the final score. Put the overnight stay on the sign-up form as an extra, not as a phase.

Hockey tournament questions

How do I schedule two matches on one turf?

As two fields, Pitch 1 North and Pitch 1 South. With only one field, the plan puts the matches one after the other.

Can I run indoor hockey from the same account?

Yes. Copy the summer event and change the fields, the duration and the date. You can keep the 3, 1, 0 scoring.

How do I enter a shoot-out?

As the final score, for example 3:2. The knockout then has a winner. A draw in the group stays a point for each team.

How do I separate under-12s and under-14s?

As divisions with their own groups. The club picks the division when it signs up. They share the pitches.

How do teams book an overnight stay?

As a priced extra on the sign-up form. You see the count with the registrations, not in the table.

Set up your first tournament. Up to eight teams it costs nothing.

No subscription, no credit card. When the tournament grows, you book a plan for that one event.
