Swiss system

Many teams, little time. Each team plays a fixed number of rounds, not against everyone.

Swiss fits if everyone against everyone would be too many games. You create it with “+ Swiss” in the phase and enter places and rounds. As a rule of thumb, take the rounds that a knockout round would have with the same number of teams, i.e. three rounds with eight teams.

Round 1 occurs as soon as each place has a team. Seeded teams are top versus bottom. You draw each additional round with “Draw next round”, but only when all the results of this round have been entered. Before that, you can still correct a status.

Teams with similar points play against each other. Nobody hits the same enemy twice while that's still possible. If the number is odd, the lowest-placed team without a previous bye gets one. A bye counts as a win.

In case of a tie, Buchholz and Median-Buchholz help: the sum of the opponents' points, with the median excluding the best and the worst. You can then go into a knockout phase with a wildcard like “1. Swiss”.
